I have searched for ways to get rid of the pop up and nothing has worked. I have tried to contact apple support and when I put in my serial number I am told that it is not the right serial number. HELP where can I turn.

Have you tried to delete the account from System Preferences/Internet Accounts and then add it back? That has worked for a few people.
Apple Support by e-mail or chat Select your device, Battery, Power and Charging, then Power adapter not working to get a chat option. If the initial contact can’t help you, ask them to have someone who can help contact you.
