Mac disk utility

My mac has a missing file icon, So i did a recovery but its seem it cant go recovery mode. It keeps giving me -3100F -3100U i tried diffrent recovery method but it seems it doesnt work

When it starts connecting, do you see an Apple or a spinning globe?

The latter indicates it is trying to boot from Apple's servers, and you may get those error codes if it cannot connect.

If you used Cmd-R, then it should try the local Recovery partition. If that doesn't work, is damaged, or missing, it will try Internet Recovery.


Ensuring the date and time are correct may help connect to IR if that is your only choice.

There are no files for Internet Recovery (IR). It is in Firmware.


If you see those errors, it appears to be attempting to connect to IR because those don't apple for the Recovery partition.

The first error code (as far as anyone has determined) means the signal strength is too low. Can you get closer to your WiFi router or connect an ethernet cable?


Given that you had a "missing file" icon, and it is attempting to boot into Internet Recovery, my guess is your hard drive has failed, or is corrupted in such a way that it cannot boot.


If you cannot connect to Internet Recovery, do you have another Mac that you can create a bootable installer on?
