Mouse pointer (still) disappears when using color picker

When using Numbers and using color picker to add color to a row or column immediately afterward the cursor disappears. The only way to make it reappear is to move the invisible cursor towards a spot over the desktop and click then to move it towards a Finder menu item and click, then it reappears. There is another thread in Apple Communities from 2016 with the same issue. Looks like this has been going on for awhile. Any solution?
