Domains ending in ".sport" redirected to web search
When a user types a domain ending in ".sport", Safari currently redirects the user to the web search function. As a result, the user is misled to believe that the web site does not exist. An example of such a website is gdpr.sport ; Safari will only show it if the domain is preceded by "http://" .
Safari had shown similar behavior with other new TLDs for a couple of weeks in each case, but in the case of .sport it keeps doing so although .sport has been in existence for almost 5 months. The issue may be linked to a belated update of the publicsuffix.org listing, where .sport only appeared in April. Does anyone know how to get the Apple to correct this behavior?
