MacBookAir won't start up if power cord attached

When I open MacBookAir 113 and touch power button, won't start up if power cord attached. Must push and hold power button for long time which seems to force a restart.

Hi there, margaretfromeastsound.

I see that your MacBook Air isn't starting up if you have the power cord attached. You have to press the button for a very long time in order for it to start. I'm happy to help.

Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac -- Restart your Mac in safe mode then reboot normally and see if this resolved the issue.

If your Mac won't turn on -- If the issue persists after restarting in safe mode, use the steps provided in this article.

Take care!
