Security Update 2018-011 "available updates have changed"

I have been trying to install Security Update 2018-011 but each time it says a restart is required. When I then try to restart the machine a pop-up states "available updates have changed" and redirects me back to the App Store updates tab at which point the entire process starts over. I'm stuck in an endless loop.

Hi there, kyle23.

I see that your MacBook Pro isn't behaving as expected. While installing an update you're prompted to restart, but then it comes back on with newer updates to install. I'm happy to help.

Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac -- Restart your Mac in safe mode and try installing the update from there. Remember this when booting in safe mode: Limited graphics performance in OS X recovery or safe mode

Let me know how that goes.

Take care!
