'add to home screen' button missing from share

I am trying to save a web page shortcut to the home screen so it appears as an app tile.

I did it ten minutes ago and the 'add to home screen' button was there in the share menu.

But now it is not there.

It is normally next to 'add to reading list' Look at the screen grab below to see it is not there.

It is now gone. How do I get it back?

What could i have done to make this button go away?

Did you try swiping from right to left across the bottom of the share window? You may have accidentally moved the option to add to the home screen over to the right. I moved it over myself here to show you what I mean. You can reorder the options by tapping on the More button all the way to the right.

Turns out the reason 'add to home screen' was not there was because I was trying to do it in a safari window that had been launched by clicking a link within the GMail app.

I copied the link and pasted it directly into iOS Safari and the option 'add to home screen' was there.

I can't speak for the original poster, but I verified a bug here; it disappears from the sharing tiles and if you select "More…" the option still appears but iOS just vibrates at you if you tap that option.

Quitting Safari and restarting it restores proper operation.
