The HDR kind they will use is HLG, which will be an option for select TVs. The sports games that BBC is planning to broadcast in 4K HDR will be limited to “tens of thousands of people”, not everyone. To gain access, viewers must be among the first to click on the relevant home screen button just after each stream starts. The BBC says audiences will need a 40 Mbps internet connection.
