If you can’t connect to your AirPods anymore

If you don't hear the connect chime after a few seconds or can't hear when your AirPods are in your ears:

• Make sure that your AirPods are charged.
• Make sure that the device you want to connect with has Bluetooth enabled.
• Make sure that you select AirPods as your audio device.

Still can’t connect? Follow these steps on your iOS device.

1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and tap the icon next to your AirPods.1 Then tap Forget This Device.
2. Put your AirPods in the case and close the lid. Wait 15 seconds, then open the lid.
3. Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case until you see the status light flash amber a few times, then flash white.
4. Place your AirPods close to your device. Follow the steps on your iOS device's screen.

Not sure if you solved your issue but I had the same problem with the amber lights not showing, etc. Once I plugged the air pod case to charge and had the pods in their case that I was able to get the amber lights to show.

I was having the same problem with my left AirPod and I would disconnect my AirPods from my phone forget device and reconnect to my phone. This worked but then the problem started happening on right AirPod, eventually no matter how much I forgot the device and reconnected it to my phone it didn’t fix the problem. Today I went to Apple and we were able to determine that it was actually the charging unit that wasn’t working. I paid for replacement case and that fixed my problem. If your AirPods are less than a year old I think they replace the malfunctioning part for free but I was out of warranty so I had to pay for the replacement part that being just the case. This is getting old I want them to work

I am having a similar issue. Tried the steps and did not help. The left does not work on Apple Watch or computer either.
