How can I change photo format to jpg?

How can I change the photo format back to jpeg (or jpg, whichever it is)?

Guides on the internet say to go into settings-->camera-->format.

I do not have the format option on that screen. All I have are:

Preserve Settings

Grid

Scan QR

Record Video

Recors Slo-mo

Keep Normal Photo

I am using 11.3.1

iPhone 6s Plus, iOS 11.2.6

iPhone 6 or iPhone 6s do not have Settings > Camera > Formats

since HEIF & HEVC formats are only available on iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus or later.

What format are you currently getting, your device only records jpg or HDR images, that’s why you don’t have the “Format” section. If you import via an App on the Mac that App might be converting to another which you should be able to change under it’s settings.

The two on the device settings are in Camera Settings under “HDR” to keep normal or not, and in Photos Settings under “Transfer to Mac or PC” to Keep Originals or Automatic. You could see what’s set and alter to suit.
