Long story short, it's happening to me and my iPhone 6s as well with a completely new battery.
I had a bad battery with reduced performance, battery life was not great but usable. Then I updated to iOS 12 and my iPhone 6s basically became a brick that sometimes depleted before my eyes, dropping 2-3% per minute. I initially thought it was the battery so I replaced it at my near by official service partner.
Now my iPhone is running iOS 12.0.1 and the battery health reports "Maximum Performance Capability" with 100% maximum performance, but the battery will still drain completely in 5-6 hours on standby. According to the battery usage Siri is the main culprit so now I've turned off everything I could in the Siri settings without it helping.
I've attached a screenshot. It shows how the battery drained from 100% down to 3% in around 5 hours, most of the time on standby. Between 16.00-17.00 I didn't use the phone at all other than checking the time once, but despite that, the battery continued to drain and Siri (that I've turned off) had 100% of the battery usage. That's just insane!
One weird thing is that it sometimes behaves correct. Also on the screenshot, it shows the battery consumption last night. During 9 hours it just dropped from 85% to 70% which is kind of what I expect when it's on standby. Other nights the battery have almost completely depleted after 8 hours of standby despite it being fully charged from the beginning.
So it's definitely some odd software behavior here that drains the battery. My battery is just 5 days old but still it won't last more than 5-6 hours if I'm lucky.
