Iphone 6s Battery suddenly draining

Why is my 2 year old iphone 6s battery suddenly draining? Just recently my phone battery has started draining. I kept it on standby overnight starting at 100% and in the morning it was at 1%. The usage was only at 30 min and the standby at 7+ hours so what is draining my battery?

Batteries have unpredictable behaviours when they are reaching the critical point of their life.

I would make a full backup of your iPhone as soon as possible, then I'd make an appoitment at your most convenient Apple Store to have your battery replaced.

You certainly know about the reducted price: $29 + taxes

I have the same problem! Suddenly in the last couple of months, my battery will just drain all of a sudden. I got a replacement battery a year ago, and even took it to the Apple store again, and they suggested turning off all background app refreshes... didn’t work. Not exaggerating, my phone just went from 62% to 17% in the last 20 minutes. It went from 20% to 17% in the time it’s taken me to write this post. Then, I’ll charge it and it just jumps by 15% all of a sudden. Ridiculous move to make you upgrade.

I highly doubt there will ever be a fix for this. My phone battery drains 15-20% per 3-5 minutes when in use, and about 30 minutes to an hour when not in use. This began happening when I upgraded to iOS 12 and has gotten progressively worse with each update. I have all of the “options” turned off because I have no need for Apple or any other app to invade my privacy.

Every single response is “replace the battery” or “replace the phone” when thousands upon thousands of people are experiencing the same issue. That’s a scam, straight through. They want more money, they won’t fix the issue and this is likely the reason I finally ditch iPhones. Several months of constant reports from people across the globe. Zero responses from any tech or customer service member that doesn’t involve paying Apple more money, and the most infuriating part is that people with brand new batteries STILL have the same issue.

Get your sh** together Apple support, for f***s sake.

I started noticing serious battery drain in the summer of 2018.. so I got a new battery and it didn’t solve anything. I lost 1% just typing that last sentence. No, actually 2%. And so on.

siri off.

Bluetooth off.

No apps running in the background.

Settings-privacy-location services: Most are never, the rest are “while using”.

Settings-general-Background app refresh: Off.

Notifications: most are turned off.

eventually i’ll have everything disabled and then, maybe then, the battery will last through one day when in standy, becoming an unusable device. But i doubt it.

There is no way my old battery (at 80% health) and my new battery (at 100% health) should die so quickly doing a fraction of the things i was doing less than a year ago.

you know how when a phone is working hard and processing a lot (like games or displaying a movie), the phone gets warm? that’s when you know, understand, and accept some battery drain. but as i hold this phone, it’s still stone cold. I’ve lost 10% just typing this post.

Wonder why it is just the 6's.. I have the 6S Plus. My wife has the 5SE and she can use her phone all day and sure, her battery goes down quite a bit, but it's still the original battery, and she's got tons of push notifications etc and never closes any apps and didn't remove any location services. She uses her phone like normal. I had to start babysitting mine.

Ah ha - thank you for this! My iPhone 6s yesterday drained from 87% to 3% during a 15-minute train journey, which was somewhat alarming as I had another 1.5 hours of train travel ahead and the phone had my mobile ticket on it. I couldn’t figure it out but I guess you are right...upgrades & connecting to hotspots could be the culprit. Still pretty appalling though - as others on here have reported it is just 2 years old and battery is allegedly 87%.

I have already purchased mobile tickets for future train journeys now I wish I had good old fashioned paper ones!!

I have a iphone 6s which is 2year old. Suddenly i noticed that my battery is draining so fast that from 50% to 0% in overnight. While i am not using any apps and even i kept in night mode to check the solution but it doesn't worked out. So when i checked Battery health it is 79%, So straight away i went to app store got my battery replaced. Now battery health shows 100% but still its is draining that fast only. Even i tried complete reset and bringing back up from cloud. Every possible thing i did and it doesn't worked out, Can someone suggest me the solution how to fix this. I am really annoyed with this thing. Apple plzz help
