remove date from 'print to pdf'

Hello,

I need to upload some Microsoft Word docs as pdfs to a website.

The problem is that when I use the 'print to pdf' function from Word it automatically puts todays date on the document.

Is it possible to disable that or will I have to resort to using my pc?

Which version of Word are you using?

The version of Word shouldn't really matter, since it's a function of Tiger, but..
I'm using the Word v.X and it doesn't mark the PDF when using the 'Save as PDF' under the [PDF↓] button in the Print dialog.

From MS Word help:

"Note: When you use the Date And Time command (Insert menu) and select the Update automatically..."

So under you MSW from the "Insert" menu, choose "Date & Time" then deselect "update automatically". That should do it.

EDIT: That may not be the issue unless your files were already dated. I just made several tests with date stamp in MS on and off and unless I actually place the date on a new document, it writes to pdf without a date stamp.

Are you using an automatic date field? If so, is it set to be the print date? You might try turning off the Update fields before print option in the preferences.

Thanks everyone, you've fixed my problem.

The automatic date thingy was turned on in Word as you suggested.

Silly of me not to realize that. Thanks for all your help, much appreciated
