2017 13" Macbook Pro

macOS is up-to-date: 10.13.5

2-Factor Authentication is on for all my devices

"Enable Messages in iCloud" Checkbox is missing from Messages -> Preferences -> Accounts

Tried signing out of and back into iCloud. The check box is still missing.

One poster has reported that they logged into their Apple ID, turned off 2FA, then turned it back on again, and the issue was resolved. It's kind of a hassle to do that because you have to re-enter all of your trusted phone numbers again, but you may want to try that: Apple - My Apple ID

Another poster has reported that toggling Keychain off and then back on again in iCloud Preferences cleared up the issue for them.

Best,
