News app won't run says "Restrictions", but they're off

Hi

For a while I have not been able to run the News app. It doesn't show up in search, I can't find the icon anywhere on springboard, and when I try to launch it from the App store app, where it presents with an "Open" button. But when I click on Open, I get an alert saying "Restrictions Enabled ... To use this app, turn Restrictions off".

I found Restrictions in Settings, and it is off. I turned it on and off again, and I still get that err in App Store. There isn't an entry there for News anyway.

Any ideas how I can get my news app working?

I had the same issue and tried to update the Restrictions country but that didn’t work. I then discovered that there were two places that my location settings needed to be updated to the US and then News worked again:

1. Settings > General > Language and Region > ensure ‘Region’ is set to the right country

2. Settings > General > Restrictions > ensure ‘Ratings For’ is set to the right country

Hope that helps!
