Microphone issue on iphone 7 after IOS 11.3 update

Ever since I updated to IOS 11.3 there has been no sound on my iphone 7 when I make or receive calls. Today I updated to IOS 11.4 with the hope that this would fix the issue, but the issue is still there. What is the point of having a cellphone if you cannot make or receive calls?

This appears to be an Apple acknowledged software fault that disables the microphone hardware.

Supposedly, dispensation has been made even if warranty has lapsed.

Considering your handle, you're stuck (as I am) dealing with Core the apple resellers who are incompetent, frustrating, inefficient and essentially useless.

Take in the article, check in the phone and hope for the best.

Make sure you have a backup phone because they will book it in for at least a week.

Hello jabufromjohannesburg,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities. You mention issues with the microphone, but then state "no sound" as well. Here are two articles to help. The first is to help you check the microphone, the second will help you check the speakers.

Thanks and have a wonderful day.
