Airplay issues with Google Wifi

Anyone have experience troubleshooting/resolving AirPlay (music streaming) with a Google Wifi network? I have all new Apple hardware- iPhone X, Apple TV 4K, iPad Pro. I have good wifi coverage with my Google Wifi (4 access points, strong speediest anywhere in house). No issues with any hardware accessing internet and streaming. But when I try to AirPlay music using Apple Music (from my iPhone X, for example), I consistently get stutters. This happens when streaming to my Denon receiver (AirPlay compatible) or even to my 4K Apple TV, so I don't think its the Denon receiver. If I play the same music directly through the Apple Music app on the Apple TV, its fine. So my only thought is that AirPlay and Google Wifi are not playing nicely. Any ideas?

All iOS software up to date (11.4), Apple TV up to date, Google Wifi software up to date as well.

Try turning off all the mesh units except the one connected to the main router.

If you have signal issues with the test setup you might need to move things closer.. and stand with the iphone closer to the main router.

Do you have the same issue?

I don’t seem to have issues with any other type of streaming technology. Just AirPlay.

Streaming from internet to AppleTV and streaming from iphone to appleTV are different.. somewhat.

I looked around for other suggestions and google wifi is certainly problematic with Apple products.

It is well worthwhile looking through some of these real world experiences..

People have some work arounds..

This might be help but also a nuisance.. again read the whole thread.. loads of people found google wifi just unreliable with Apple products.

AirPlay, which is an IP suite, should be Wi-Fi brand "agnostic." It can run over wireless or wired connections. However, for the former, stuttering issues is typically related to Wi-Fi interference that introduces noise that can interfere with the Wi-Fi's signal quality.

Do you happen to live in an area with a high concentration of other Wi-Fis operating nearby, like a dorm or apartment complex?

Have you actually had an opportunity to verify that Wi-Fi interference is not an issue? That is, use any number of utilities that can help you determine if this is possible? If not, it still may be worth the trouble.

I'm not aware of any specific issues using AirPlay over a mesh network provided by Google wireless access points. A number of the IP protocols that make up the AirPlay suite are the same as those used by other streaming technologies. Of course, anything is possible.

Unfortunately, I don't presently use one (or necessarily want to) so I cannot confirm your findings. Hopefully, someone else who does will be able to chime in and potentially offer a solution. Good luck!
