Oldest version of iOS that has Instagram?

I am considering buying an old iPod touch, and I want to know what is the oldest version of iOS that can run Instagram, and which iPod Touch runs on that iOS version? I don’t want the most recent version of Instagram, just any version of Instagram is what I’m looking for. I’m looking into buying a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th generation iPod touch, if I used one today could I run an old version of Instagram on it? Thanks! Sorry if my question sounds too confusing.

I just confirmed that Instagram has older iOS versions available that go all the way back to iOS 4.2.1.

That means using an iPod Touch 2nd gen or newer.

If you already use Instagram on a newer iDevice, you can easily download an older versions of Instagram to older iDevices.

If no newer iDevices, you will need to use older versions of iTunes on a computer ( iTunes 12.6.4 or earlier ) to download the recent version of an app to a computer first, then you can go back to an older iDevice and download the older version of an app from the iOS App Store from that older iDevice.
