iPhone SE dead

I have tried the reset by holding power and home buttons, it has been plugged into usb charger overnight which works fine on old iPhone 5S. iPhone SE will not respond to anything. It was fine the night before, went dead, then never charged again. I cleaned out the charging port from lint. Any other reset or do I need the APPLE usb wall wart and cable to charge a dead iPhone?
