Upgrading Hard Drive on a MacBook Pro, Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014 (MacBookPro11,1)

I have a MacBook Pro, Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014 (MacBookPro11,1) that I would like to upgrade the hard drive. What style of PCIe SSD do I need for this?

Researching these online I see a lot of different varieties of these drives.

I have seen:

1. PCI Express NVMe M.2

2. M.1 SSD

3. PCIe 3.0

They all seem to look alike, but which one will work on my computer?

Thanks!

There are all sorts of claims that they may or may not work, but at this point only OWC and Transcend make any compatibility guarantees.

Here's a guide on all the Apple SSDs that come as separate cards:

Messing with adapters is really for the serious hobbyist. Simply replacing it (other than an official Apple repair of a defective SSD) will likely render your MBP unserviceable by Apple or an AASP. I mean - once it's received any kind of "unauthorized modification/service" they won't even do a battery replacement service.
