Latitude and Longitude are measured in degrees, minutes and seconds. And presented on maps in degrees, minutes and seconds. The conversion between degrees and fractions and degrees, minutes and seconds is straightforward.

Yep, as does mine. But if you just want to quickly see your longitude and latitude, without having to convert anything, it's easier to just look in the Maps App. IMHO at least.
I never before recall seeing latitude an longitude expressed as anything but with minutes and seconds. Learned something new.
Maps, nautical and aeronautical charts use minutes and seconds. If you take a navigation class (such as is again now required at Annapolis) that's what you have to use, as sextants and other tools of the trade are calibrated in degrees, minutes and seconds. It's what an ephemeris gives for star positions in declination and right ascension. It's what Loran presents. It's what a compass is calibrated in. It's only a GPS that uses decimal degrees.
Open the Maps App
Tap the Blue Circle which is your location
Scroll to see your latitude and longitude
It's in the Compass app. You can also use a 3rd party GPS app such as GPSDiagnostic.
Thanks. That works. I had seen it in the compass app also and thought it was still there.
It's in my compass app.
It's in both the Maps App and the Compass App.
Thanks but that doesn't give me the longitude and latitude. It gives me the degrees, minutes, and seconds.
I just checked and you're right. My Compass App shows what your Compass App shows. I guess I thought it also showed L and L. I knew though that the Maps App does show Longitude and Latitude.
Well now, that's just making us use math and what fun is that? LOL
