Airdropped images (saved in iPhone camera roll) do not import into Photos (Mac)

Hi Apple Community,

My friends airdropped photos to my iOS device. Then, I want to upload all of the images into Photos on Mac.

What I have realized is that the images on my Iphone that were placed in my Camera Roll by airdrop We're not imported into Photos. Photos don't even see them.

The only way to import is to select them manually and AirDrop them to my Mac. But I can't tell which were airdropped to me.

1) Is there a way to identify airdropped photos within the Camera Roll?

2) Why do photos that are Airdropped to my iOS device can't be imported into Photos (Mac)?

That should work, unless iCloud Photo Library has become enabled on your iPhone. Check the settings "Your name > iCloud > Photos & Camera " on your iPhone. The problem is, that iCloud Photo Library will remove random photos from your Camera Roll to save storage and keep them only in iCloud. And then you cannot import them to your Mac using a USB connection. Do not enable "Optimize Storage" on the iPhone, if you are not using iCloud Photo Library on the Mac as well.
