Daily Repeat Reminders not showing alerts or notifications recently

I'm no idea what this is linked to and I've undone any settings I've recently changed apart from I have iOS 11.4

I can set up 3 reminders all for the same date and time and one can be a simple reminder, one can be a repeat monthly and one can be a repeat daily: at the stated time the repeat daily / repeat every day reminder does not show on my phone or watch as a notification alert, but the others do.

It then just shows up later as an overdue reminder in the reminders app.

No other functionality seems to be affected.

My reminders are iCloud synced, bit this list is not shared.

I've tried clearing out all completed reminders.

I've tried re-setting notification settings but they are correct, Apple verified this.

I've tried re-setting a sound.

I've tried setting reminders on a new list

I've tried setting reminders from a Mac or from iCloud website

I've tried disconnecting my watch, deleting my car and toggling on and off a range of other settings.

I've tried restarting the device

The reminders do show as upcoming in the widget / siri watch face but don't trigger an alert, don't appear as a banner, don't appear in notification centre, and don't appear on the lock screen or watch swipe down.

They do alert on the MacBook Pro when I chose to sync reminders on that for a test, since turned back off.

To recap: this is only seeming to happen on daily repeat reminders. If anyone else has this same issue it would be great to hear back. If you found what caused it I'd be over the moon... This isn't iOS 11.4 on its own since my friends don't have this issue.

I’m very sorry. I solved this myself.

I have to go to the notification settings for reminders and turn things off from the bottom all the way to the top. Restart the phone and then turn them back on from the top all the way to the bottom.

Underlying there are several things that the user can not see which change and this fixed it.

Turns out there is no setting for alerts just for daily reminders but in the code there must be and this re-set that back on.

So even though it showed as on, and I showed that to Apple. Underneath there was a part of it still off.

Hello iZian,

I understand that you're not receiving a daily repeat reminder on your iPhone and Apple Watch. I understand your concern since this is not happening with all reminders or all devices, and I'd be happy to help.

You've already done some great troubleshooting to try to isolate this issue. There are still a couple other things you can try. Let's have you unpair the Apple Watch and your iPhone, then restore the iPhone and pair them back and test to see if the issue remains. Before we do this step, it’s always a good idea to be sure you have a recent backup of your device.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup
Unpair your Apple Watch and iPhone
After you've created the backup and unpaired your watch, go to Settings > General > Reset and choose "Reset All Settings."
