MacBook Pro stuck on boot (runs okay in Safe Mode) - First Aid finds no issue
Stange new issue with MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5 (13-inch, Late 2011) with recently upgraded 500GB Solid State SATA Drive:
not sure if connected or not, but the symptoms started with an external hard drive connected (via USB3).
MacBook Pro turned on to non booting start up screen (Apple logo on grey screen with loading bar stuck towards the end) and with loud fans running.
When turning on in Safe Mode, the computer runs okay, if slow.
Disk Utilities First Aid (in Safe Mode) finds no problem, also no issue after running First Aid in Recovery Mode - green check marks on both upon completion.
Tried resetting NVRAM/PRAM and SMC, both to no avail.
Update: this morning the computer started up upon turning on in normal mode, but after logging into user only displayed a black screen (with white cursor arrow)
