iPod Nano 6th Generation not recognised by iTunes

Hi All,

Having some trouble getting iTunes to recognise my 6th Generation iPod Nano. Have recently upgraded to the iTunes App from the Microsoft Store.

My iPad 6th Generation (iOS 11.4), iPhone 4 (iOS 7.1.2) and iPad 2 (iOS 9.3.5) all connect and are recognised / syncing with iTunes.

However when I plug my 6th Generation iPod Nano (version 1.2 PC (not sure if this is OS or something)) into my laptop (Can provide specs if needed) windows pops up with ipod connected however the icon for the Nano does not show up in iTunes.

I have tried a variety of solutions for this based on previous searches however am willing to try again from the start with anything that may solve the issue of it not connecting.

Any help you can provide regarding this would be so very much appreciated.

Thank you to all.

As a follow up. In my previous attempts I must have set into motion a windows update. When I connected the iPod nano again tonight iTunes popped up that iPod support needed to install. I feel that this was the issue and the windows update has triggered it to install.

All is working well now so in short, ensure that all updates are installed.
