Quick calendar view

Not sure how / why no one else has brought this up, but I can't find a quick way to view this week / months calendar for checking dates etc. Doesn't need to be anything snazzy, just a simple calendar. Makes sense for it to be on the notifications dash, but the calendar on there is purely for events - it doesn't show an overview of the week / month which seems really bizarre?

As an example, even in windows if you click the date at the top, it will drop down a simple calendar.

Doesn't seem like a big ask, and quite a basic bit of functionality?
