When I start the directory utility i get the following error message:
-[__NSCFDictionary deepMutableCopy]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x6480002654c0
You can prompt ok and continue working with the utility for a while.
Still would like to know how the rid of this ...

Found the solution by starting the utility directly from the finder instead off running it out of the dock. No error turned up. So the dock Entry was defect.
The machine was setup from a diskimage containing this dock configuration.

Boot into Safe Mode, Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode, and try Disk Utility there. Any improvement? Reboot normally and continue.
If it works in the Safe Mode, try running this program when booted normally and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.
The Dock entry is just a macOS Alias to the app. If the Dock Alias is out-of-date, then you should remove that Alias from the Dock, and drag the app from the Finder to the Dock to create a new up-to-date Alias.
