I searched the forums and don’t find any answers solving this issue.
AW 3 latest software, iPhone 7 latest software.
Basically, activity app shows data unavailable for heart rate for outdoor runs. Elliptical doesn’t have the same issue.
In the health app i see all the data there when I can as running for every minute so surely there is enough for a chart!
Is this a bug in the app?

I have found I need to restart the Apple Watch occasionally when the Workout app does not properly read the heart rate. A good indication a restart is needed is when the Workout app does not read your heart rate within a minute of starting a workout.

Got same issue. Try to uncheck HR notifications in your Apple Watch app HR settings (I checked 120 bpm alert) didn’t get time enough to see if it solves the issue but try it.

Thx, today I tried tightening the strap by one notch before a run and turned the heart rate alerts off.
It read HR on outdoor run setting! Will continue to test and report back...
I am having the same problem..
Iv had my apple watch 3 series, nike edition since Jan/Feb 2018, its never given me a problem until recently, since the start of June I cannot see my heart rate data on my activity app. The heart rate shows in the health app, but nothing in activity app. its really annoying, I have done everything suggested here, from reboot to re-sync, to reset, everything.. and its still not syncing the information.

For instance when I finished I was at 126 1 minute later I was at 134 and two minutes 128? So not sure if I shoukd be worried or if it is a bug in the watch?
My HR goes up and down aswell, AW is only an indicator so if your worried get a professional opinion. A couple of beats here seems reasonable but I am not a doctor....
I had heart rate data chart if you will, but the recovery indicated my heart rate went up in minute one and two. Then in the first page summary on the watch it showed my recovery slowed down by 38 bpm? No Vo2 max either. Would this be because cell data turned off on watch? Mine is a series three iPhone 7.
