What if there's a software issue with the old iMac and I don't want to migrate the old problem to the new iMac so I manually copied the user folder?
The original copied photo library did not have iCloud Photo Library turned on while the new Mac does.
What happens when copying the old user folder over? The primary reason I did it was because there were so many software issues with the previous Mac I did not want to carry over the issue which has happened in the past.
Not a good idea to copy over the old user folder. You're getting set to create a major mess.
Why aren't you following what was recommended, using MA and the old computer's TM drive.
