Viruses on my iPhone

I was 'surfing' and an error msg. suddenly popped up indicating it was from Apple Security. It says,

(3) Viruses have been detected on your Apple iPhone!

We have detected that your Apple iPhone has been infected with viruses. It will soon spy with your bank accounts and credit card number, abuse your iCloud data, photos and contact if no action is taken.

You need to protect your iPhone now!

OK

I just noticed that the above message is in a box that covers another message. This 2nd message says:

'Tap the button below & install the recommended virus protection tool for free from the iTunes Store. A security VPN network can stops your privacy giveaway,'

I do see that there are several grammatical errors that I would not expect to see. Nevertheless, I need to know if this message is from Apple and whether or not it is, I still will need to know what to do. I'm panicking.

iMac, macOS High Sierra (10.13.5)

It isn't from Apple. Unless your iPhone is jailbroken, there is no virus. Besides that, Apple does not scan devices for viruses. Do not interact with the message. If this was a popup while surfing the internet, then go to Settings>Safari>and then Clear History and Website Data. You will be okay then.
