Issues downgrading to iOS 11.4

Hello I'm new here, this is my first post and certainly not my last with my lack of knowledge on software. I have made the mistake of installing iOS 12 beta on my iPhone 5S through the OTA beta profile. I have a dilemma as this is the oldest supported iOS device in Apple's line up. I have issues with iOS 11 so I thought that updating to 12 beta would be okay (boy was I wrong) now given it's in beta so I knew there would be some kinks and because I made the bright idea of putting it on my daily driver I've made my bed with it, but I'm hoping someone could help me get back to iOS 11 as much as it's a pain with all the battery issues going on and I know I'm not the only one experiencing these issues that have been noticed in the last few versions of iOS 11. My current issue is that I am using a pc with literally 32 GB of storage running Windows 10 (why manufacturers decided to produce 32 GB hard drives running Windows 10, I have no clue because I can't do jack squat with this thing other than basic browsing and installing a few programs) but I'm running into issues restoring , it seems I can restore from backups that were created by older versions of iOS with little to no issues, but that doesn't downgrade me to those versions assuming because they are no longer being signed by Apple, but restoring from a fresh ipsw is like literal **** for this computer as Windows 10 takes up more than half of my hard drive. (I believe it's around 15 GB or so give or take) and I've attempted to clear anything I possibly can on this laptop to get the restore going and every time it says my disk is too full. I know this isn't a Microsoft forum, but if anyone can give me any info on how to do this restore successfully with this little bit of storage available that would be absolutely fantastic as I can't bare with the bugs in iOS 12 beta 1. As stated before I have attempted to delete every piece of software I don't need and that I didn't think would screw up my computer in the long run but it barely does anything for freeing up storage and is still almost maxed out. All that is on my computer currently is the latest version of iTunes , the ipsw for iOS 11.4 and firefox as my broswer. I don't know what else to do with this as I've tried deleting the developer OTA profile and installing the regular iOS beta profile to see if anything popped up under software update, but of course nothing happens leaving the device stuck under iOS 12 because it thinks that's the most current software. Please HELP!! 😟

Hello Mayaarose,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you are unable to uninstall the iOS Beta software on your iPhone. To help with this issue, please make sure to follow each of the steps from this Apple resource on your situation.

To uninstall iOS beta, you need to erase and restore your device. Then—if you have an archived backup*—you can set up again from that backup. Here's how:

  1. Check that you have the latest version of iTunes.
  2. Connect your device to your computer, then put your device in recovery mode with these instructions:
    • For iPhone X, iPhone 8, or iPhone 8 Plus: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then, press and hold the Side button until you see the recovery-mode screen.
    • For iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Volume Down buttons at the same time. Don't release the buttons when you see the Apple logo. Continue to hold both buttons until you see the recovery mode screen.
    • For iPhone 6s and earlier, iPad, or iPod touch: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. Don't release the buttons when you see the Apple logo. Continue to hold both buttons until you see the recovery mode screen.
  3. Click the Restore option when it appears. This erases your device and installs the current nonbeta version of iOS.
  4. Wait for the restore to finish. If asked, enter your Apple ID and password, which disables Activation Lock. If the restore process won't finish, learn what to do.

After the restore finishes, you can set up your device from your archived backup, which should be from an earlier version of iOS.

If you back up a device that has iOS beta, the backup won’t work with earlier versions of iOS. For example, if you go back to iOS 10.3.3 from iOS 11 beta, a backup you made while using iOS beta won’t restore. Instead, restore from a backup that you made before you installed iOS beta.
