Issues with MacBook keyboard and trackpad, HELP!

For two days, when I open my MacBook from sleeping mode, integrated keyboard and trackpad don't working, what can I do? I can use it only with external keyboard and mouse. Trackpad had feedback, but mouse icon don't move, power button on keyboard also works well.

I had this problem twice. The problem for me was that the thin cable that runs from the trackpad control board over the battery to the connector on the mainboard. The 2015 model MacBook Pro cable is (arguably) slightly longer than it needs to be to get over the battery, and as a consequence the cable gets crimped up at both ends and over time fails. When it fails (usually intermittently at first and then permanently) both keyboard and trackpad are disabled as input devices and you hit the problems you are describing. The fix is easy - google "MacBook Pro 2015 trackpad cable" and buy a replacement - they cost about $10-15 on Amazon - whip the back off your laptop and swap the cable and it should all work perfectly again. You'll need the right combination of screwdrivers to open the back and take off the cable cover above the connection to the main board, and remember to disconnect the battery whilst you do the repair to minimise the chances of frying things. If you need more help, follow the first part of the ifixit guide to replacing your trackpad. But you dont need to replace the trackpad - just the cheap cable connector (as I learnt second time around - the first time this happened I wasted money on a new trackpad as well - its not necessary.

Brue computing posted an interesting Video on Youtube. The proposition was that the SATA cable problems in certain MacBooks was caused by abrasion against the machined inside of the aluminum case. Their solution? RED TAPE!

User uploaded file

(The drive has been removed for photographic clarity)

One strip applied to the case, and one strip applied to the underside of the cable.

You should use RED tape because it is associated with higher speeds, and will therefore keep the high speed bits from spilling out of the cable and accumulating inside the case.

OGELTHORPE insists that I have a fiduciary responsibility to tell you that--^

In addition to what is pictured, Users have discovered that the spots where the cable makes extreme bends (moving from horizontal run to vertical run) are also subject to extreme stress and that sometimes the internal wires can fracture at those extreme bends.

I have the same Macbook, and the same problem.

None of the above software updates changed anything. Apparently the ribbon cable or the "topcase" has worn out. Not sure what a topcase is referring too.

I replaced the ribbon cable with ordered parts and tools for less than £20. The fix only lasted for about a week and kept on being disrupted whenever pressure was applied to the center of the underside... aka when resting on my lap.

Now i'm back to the same fault. Perhaps the "topcase" needs fixing but that repair is more involved. I was quoted £550.

I'm disappointed, Apple acknowledged other issues with this model, i.e. delaminating screen. But they have not acknowledged this common issue.

I had this issue as well - the foam under the small inch long metal plate protecting the connection seems to degrade/get soft over time, and that seems to then contribute to the cable initially disconnecting under pressure and then flexing slightly to the point where it fails. The fix I applied was (when replacing the cable for the second time - the first repair failed after 2 years) was to add another 1.5mm of foam to the underside of the metal plate. It all holds perfectly firmly now, with no flex and/or breakage/failure. This all seems a bit of a design flaw in the 2015 MacBook (I've had no similar issues with a 2016 MBP), but the good news is that there is a cheap and robust DIY fix.
