Issues with "Scaled Resolution & external displays"
I have a 2017 13" MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. I routinely connect it to two 27" 4K LG UD2788 Displays with the lid closed, and while traveling connect the laptop to various projectors & TVs.
I run the internal display, as well as both of my 4K displays in "scaled" resolution mode. 2560x1440 to be exact. This is not the "default" for the display in "hi-DPI" mode according to Apple, but it is allowed.
I have constant issues when waking from sleep. Or connecting to a external display/projector.
1.) Display resoultion/scaling is off, and mouse cursor alignment is wrong. The mouse and GUI show full screen, but clicking on something shows me manipulating a different part of the screen. For example, the mouse icon can be 3 inches above the dock, yet the dock thinks im touching it.
2.) dock and gui is frozen when connecting to external display and/or the wrong resolution.
The only remedy for this is one of the following:
1.) hard reboot of the system
2.) switch the scaled resolution from 1920x1080 to 2560x1440 back and forth until it fixes itself.
I've engaged with Apple support, and they claim they are unable to reproduce this issue in house, and think its some kind of random software I have installed on my system.
Does anyone have any issues remotely similar to this?
