Hearthstone—Can’t add friends on iPhone 8+ iOS 11.4

Blizzard (game manufacturer) says to contact mobile device support at Apple as hey say this is not their issue. I doubt that’s the case, but figured I would at least attempt this forum.

I am unable to add friends (I have 42 now, and cannot add any) within the Hearthstone app. This has been happening for months. Other people can add me with no problem.

After a game completes, I select "Add a friend." I select the id of the "last played" . I do not receive a "friend request sent" message (I used to receive this confirmation message but no longer do). Once I hit "done" on the Apple pop-up key board, the key board disappears and there is no confirmation message of the friend request being sent.

Other times, I do the same steps above, but the app crashes and says "Disconnected. Game completed and recorded! Reconnecting to Hearthstone servers.“

This is on an iPhone 8+; iOS 11.4.

I have uninstalled the Hearthstone app, reinstalled it; and ensured I have the most current version of Hearthstone.

I am am not optimistic for resolution here but figured it is worth a shot. Blizzard’s mobile device is extremely poor and practically nonexistent.
