Check settings in the app itself. Many, like mine, have a setting section and that is what turns it on or off. When I updated to the iPhone X from my iPhone 7, since the 7 does not have Touch ID, it automatically went back to requiring my username and password. I couldn’t seem to find a setting on the iPhone so I stopped by the bank. They showed me the settings area for the app. Mine had the ability to set Face ID under the security section. Then the next time you lot in with your username and password, it will activate Face ID for your login. Hope that helps.
