Is safety.apple.com legit?

I heard a loud noise then received a notice on a window that opened up that I had three viruses and should perform a scan. The notice is from a site with the prefix " safety.apple.com" There is a logo on the page for the apple protection plan. Is this from Apple or is it a scam?
