Does anybody know why my macbook pro doesn't play hevc video?
I shoot video with gopro hero 6 at 4k 60fps or 1080p 240fps and neither works on my computer.
I have seen a lot of answers that hevc video NO GREATER than 1080p 240fps won't play on my machine, but at even that same resolution it still won't work properly.
I have High Sierra installed.
What might be the problem?

what happens when you try to play at the minimum size/rate? any error messages? what is the exact wording of these?
what Application are you using to play?
We can play 20 questions over exactly what configuration and what is running on your Mac, but it would be much easier if you could download and run this little non-invasive and completely self-contained "discovery" utility. "Share" and post its report, which has no personally-identifiable information included. This should be really easy -- if you find yourself having to do screenshots, you are doing it wrong.

You do not appear to have a backup drive, or it is not attached. it is not really adequate to have only web backup -- you really need a local backup on a drive you control.
Doesn't matter if i play it with quicktime or vlc, the video is very choppy to say the least. Most of the time it displays only few first images and then there is only sound, video doesn't move, but sometimes it displays green artefacts.
No error messages, only not properly playing video.
So.. is my 1200euro computer just a paper weight?

What's the name of the utility? I can run it, but as far as I know, nothing is running in the background, configuration is the early 2015 base model, integrated graphics and so on.

Like I posted already it is 13 inch MacBook Pro, Early 2015. It is literally what "about this mac" displays and what I wrote in my original post as well. What is the question here? RAM? 8 GB. Processor? DC i5 2,7GHz.
