iPhone 8 not charging properly

My iPhone 8 doesn't charge properly. Its always stuck at 80 % and if I restart the phone, the charge immediately changes to 84 %. Any solid reason for this? Under no conditions is it charging beyond 85 %. On the first charge it did indeed charge a full 100 % but after that it never charged properly. What to do? I contacted my nearby Apple authorized service center. They said there is no problem with the phone, as they used a separate charging cable to charge it through their iMac till 95 %, though they took my charger to see if there is any problem with the adapter or charging cable. I'm facing this issue even with my iPhone 7 charger when using it on my iPhone 8. Any idea to identify the cause behind this problem? The Apple service center didn't even bother charging the iPhone in a power socket with my Apple supplied charger. How to diagnose this issue and explain it to them? No matter what I do, at my home the charging is not surpassing 85%. So the problem is either with the iPhone battery or both the chargers(one is iPhone 8's and other is my old iPhone 7's). Please help

Your iPhone 7 charger should be as good as one supplied for iPhone 8 - in fact they are probably the same accessory for both phones. Reading your post I suspect a software issue which could be either early stop on the charging, or it could be the % indicator has got confused. There are many other posts about this problem if you use our search tool, Apple - Support - Search so maybe some more ideas there too.

For a software problem the first thing to try is always a restart of the phone. Pick the method appropriate for your phone, If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen - Apple Support and let the phone reboot. You could also wipe the phone back to factory configuration and setup again, BUT DO A BACKUP FIRST! In fact you want a backup before you go back to the service center because they may wipe your phone without even asking about backup.

I don't think so. I already tested that method by resetting my phone through iTunes but the problem still persists. Moreover I got it from Amazon where a lot of verified reviews are negative and claiming they were sent refurbished iPhones and they don't even have a replacement policy for Apple products which clears my doubt. This issue occurs during overnight charging which is unacceptable for a brand new iPhone which is 10 days old
