Hi guys my first post, new macbook pro core2duo. Can't connect to my wireless network at home although my pc notebook connects fine. Have 26 character hex WEP key that will not authenticate. Can't add $ in front of hex key.
Not sure what to do. Can someone help?

No already tried that and it still does not connect to the network. Have double checked the 26 character WEP key as well. Does anyone have other ideas

Are you trying to connect to a wireless router other than an Airport Base Station? If so, the Airport Extreme 2007-02 has effectively broken the airport card for connections that use WEP or WPA with some routers. Dlink and Linksys routers seem to be particularly affected. Check this thread:

There is still no fix from Apple, although they have been aware of the issue for some time now. If your problem is as above, your only fix is to buy another router that will work with the 2007-02 update or go without security.

I'm not sure which wireless routers work with Airport and which don't, but I bought an inexpensive Belkin router and it does work with WPA and my Macbook Pro. That fixed my problem with wireless connections at home, but unfortunately my Macbook Pro is still unable to connect with oour router at work and several other access points that I used to be able to use before the 2007-02 update.

I've had the same problem, until today. I got sick of it, so i decided to put some time and effort in fixing it. I updated my routers firmware, reseted the whole router, and re-installed it. With no settings at all and no security either i was able to connect with my mac. Progress that is, because when i turned off the security yesterday, it didn't help.

I did some set up, ip adress and stuff, and once again the wep 128bit, the same as it used to be, and for some reason i'm able to connect again.

It's just that my connection is about 10 times as slow as it used to be, but i cba right now, i'll fix that later.
