ipad pro phone

Hello,

Is there any such thing as an iPadPro Phone? My objective is to use an iPad as my primary computer and also my phone. I have been trying to pull this together and the word coming back to me is what I am looking for is not available. I am thinking that has to be impossible. I had an iPad 5 years ago and it was practically exactly like the iPhone I had, so I thought by now the devices would be running the same systems just on different sized devices.

But when I ask about this in stores near where I live, I get looked at like I am mixed up.

iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular, iOS 8.1.2, null

You can't use an iPad to do that independently, but you can use one to place and answer phone calls from your iPhone. Refer to Use iPhone Cellular Calls in Use Continuity to connect your Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple Watch - Apple Support. The iPhone doesn't have to be in your hand or (with Wi-Fi calling) even nearby.

Alternately, you can use FaceTime, or an app like Skype. No phone needed.

The short answer though is no, there is no iPad model that incorporates all the same features as a telephone.

Yes you can make phone calls on your iPad Pro. I use Verizon as my carrier and they had to send me a SIM card. I have a separate device account for my iPad and can make calls From it alone with no need to go through my iphone. It has its own number but I can change it to my cell number and retire my iPhon. The easiest way is through the phone icon in your contacts. I also bought my iPad Pro to consolidate devises. Good luck.
