Applying drums over an MP3 track

Hi folks
Is there an easy way I can put a heavy hip-hop bass drum over my band's MP3?

I got some of my bands hardest rock tracks and I want to really kick up the drums and make something really different.

I simply want to add a few drums throughout the MP3 track but I dont want to sit here and tap the keyboard to a beat!
Is there an easy way of overlaying a drum pattern and having it synched in?

I am a real GB novice!

You can use GB's loops. To do so, you have to determine your track's tempo (assuming that it has a consistent tempo!). The easiest way (at least for me):

- Put your mp3 in one track of GB and find a significant point that you align to the start of a beat in the grid.
- Create an empty new track (software or real instrument) and enable it for recording.
- Set an approximate tempo, turn the metronome on, hit record, and determine what's faster - your song or the metronome.
- Hit stop, adjust the tempo, and proceed until the tempos match exactly.

Now you can drag any drum loop (green or blue) into the timeline, it will match your song.

Hopefully, your song was recorded with some kind of click and an integer number of beats per minute, otherwise you will have problems syncing the two. It may still work on short segments, re-adjusting the drum track throughout the song.
