iTunes connection problem for windows

My iTunes is of lastest version, when I connect my phone to itunes windows.. it keeps telling me to update to newer version. please help me out to connect to the iTunes

Unfortunately, stating that you have the "latest version" doesn't actually mean that you have the latest version at all. You need to state specifically which version you have.


You can find the version number by clicking on Help/About iTunes and watching for the version number to scroll up the screen:

and then...

What number is shown in your iTunes?

Is the message telling you to update iTunes, or update the phone? What precisely does the message say?

Well, iTunes 12.1.3.6 is the latest version that can be used on Windows XP. Otherwise, it (Windows XP) is no longer supported by iTunes. If you have a newer iPhone that is using a newer iOS, you will not be able to use it with that older iTunes. Time to update your Windows. It has not been supported by Microsoft for a LONG time. If you have that device connected to the Internet, you are extremely vulnerable to problems.
