trying to connect my IPad mini to Bluetooth speaker

My IPad mini, version11.4 will not pair with Sony wireless Bluetooth Speaker. I do have Bluetooth enabled on the IPad. I've tried several ways to work around this, but it will not pair. I did pair it with my Iphone very easily. Wondering what the problem may be.

It is very possible that the speaker cannot pair to more than one device at a time. Make sure you check the speaker's user guide. Place the speaker into discovery/pairing mode, then turn Bluetooth on for the iPad. Pair a third-party Bluetooth accessory with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support You should be able to follow the onscreen directions then. Otherwise, see this for troubleshooting.
