A1863, A1905, A1906 = iPhone 8.

If it were a "plus" model = A1864, A1897, A1898

KiltedTim is asking for the full model number. What you gave is the number you'd find on the back of the phone. Such as for my 6s, it's A1688. But in Settings > General > About, the full Model number is FKQL2LL/A.

Yup. The short model number on the back will tell you the same thing. I can't remember what the longer model number is for. I think it changes if you, for instance, have an older iPhone 8, and another that was built four months later, but has had minor hardware revisions. They'll both be (example) and A1905, but will not have the same long model number.

But the OP said they already checked / identified the model (8) investigating via IMEI #.

Unfortunately he forgot (or didn't know) that the portrait mode is available on 7+, 8+, X models only.

Portrait mode is available on iPhone 8 Plus (not on iPhone 8).
