Hey wha'ts up everyone. This question is for Sinewave or anyone else who can help. I am new to logic and I have been trying to learn my way around a lot more lately. I would like to know when I have Battery as the Input on an instrument track, how do I need to configure my tracks and settings in Logic so that when i'm recording in Logic and trigger my battery samples, each cell appears on a seperate track in Logic so that I can have more control over the mix in Logic. I'm desperate for help. Thank you so much.
to do this you'll need to use your auxilliary tracks.Create an audio object and use it as an aux. channel then input battery as the insert, click hold on battery insert and assign 3/4 stereo or 3 as mono and so on.On the battery side you'll go to the cells window and assign your cells to that same channel.
you may have to create a midi track to test your settings as just clicking on the cell itself may not do to hear your assignment, create your midi track using hyper edit or matrix edit or if your using an outboard midi device.
Hey. I was working with the aux tracks last night and i got each cell in battery to show signal in seperate aux tracks. I was excited with this. However, when i record, the actual notes still only go to the one instrument track I have Battery inserted on as the input. Should I insert battery on another channel?
NO!! dont run battery on 2 instrument channels at once, trust me i tried it and all your going to get is a core overload, you only need those midi notes on one track for drums, set this instrument track as (no output). Assign your aux. tracks to the same bus once you get the drums mixed the way you want, I use mono settings for most of my kit and I've gotten good results and really punchy drums this way
