But if you go into contact app on the phone, you will likely see "Groups" in the top left corner. Tap that, and you will see what accounts are saving your contacts.

It is unlikely the contacts are only stored locally, if you do not see "groups" go to settings > accounts > and chech which email account has contacts turned on.

once you know the account, go to the web site and follow their steps to export and see if vcf is an option.. If they are icloud than vCard is the only option iCloud: Export a contact as a vCard from iCloud Contacts

if you have a work or exchange email account for contacts, may be more difficult.

The other option is 3rd party apps that claim to do it, either from your computer or right from the phone, but i have not used 1 to recommend and will be effected by how many contacts we are talking about, but still depends on the account they are stored with
