How to add sites to ""Frequently Visited"

Am using 11.1.1 on a Mac Book Pro. How to add (Permanently) to "Frequently Visited."

Need to add Yahoo, Washington Post, and CNN.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

Safari top sites I have been unable to figure out how to add and pin websites in my top site on my safari start page. The "Customize the start page in Safari on Mac" only tells me how to add frequently visited to my start page, not how to customize it, namely how to specify what websites I want on my start page, and pin the ones I want to keep.

don't upgrade to Safari 14 if you use 'top sites'... is the 'frequently visited sites' component of safari's new 'top sites' feature completely unconfigurable by users?... if you upgrade, safari picks -- apparently randomly -- sites you've visited at one time or another, doesn't include sites you've visited every day from the old 'top sites' display, and doesn't seem to be configurable by users... is this right?

Monterey: How to customize "Top Sites" in Safari? Upgraded my 2020 Macbook Air to Monterey last night and now I can't get back to "Top Sites" like had them in Big Sur. Monterey allows me 12 "Top Sites" — I had about 24 in Monterey. Below on the Left is what Monterey allows. On the Right are "Top Sites" I want, had in Big Sur, and they changed only when I changed them. These were the first sites I visited every morning. I assume could create 24 Tabs but they are not as easy to work with as the 24 icons in Big Sur. Monterey has slowed down my work. Is there any way to display 24 icons in "Top Sites" in Monterey? How do I prevent Monterey to changing them without my doing so?

No--that is NOT how often I visit them! My email account and the Washington Post, plus CNN, have completely disappeared!

How do I get them back?
