Cannot delete leftover icon from Launchpad

I uninstalled a copy of Filemaker Pro from my make and I have a leftover icon in Launchpad which I cannot get rid of. It won't drag to the trash and when I hold it, no "x" appears to delete.

Usually the item would be removed from the Application folder,

only then would the icon in Launchpad would disappear.


You may try other things to resolve this issue; depending on what

the cause of this (symptom) may be. ~ Sometimes simply a restart

can clear them.


Non-Apple (store) items may require a different path to remove from

the Launchpad. I prefer to try & place them in a folder on the Dock

of my own creation; hold-over from decades, different Mac OS use.


For more determined 'failure to remove' icons, there's reportedly

a way via Command-Line to remove them. + I've not tried them.
