iCloud Drive (Archive) folder

To solve a problem not long ago, I signed out of iCloud on my Mac and allowed files to be downloaded before signing back in to iCloud. I just noticed in my /User a folder "iCloud Drive (Archive)." Is that the container of the downloaded files/folders? ... that I can delete safely now that all is well?

If you click on sign out by entering in system preferences > iCloud and click on keep copy , a archive folder will be created in home folder , it is for just safety purpose and don't delete the folder , but as soon as you again sign in with the Apple ID and password the contacts , calendars etc that is mentioned in the article will start downloading and it will take day ( all depends upon the size of the data and network speed ) so you have to keep the Mac opened .

It's a somewhat helpful article. Thanks for pointing me to it.

I cannot quite get to the point of saying that the article "solved my question," though, as it is not entirely clear about where the archived material is kept after signing out. Note that there is a 30% "helpful" rating for the article.

I'm going to assume from the article that the "iCloud Drive (Archive)" folder on my Mac is indeed the material that was downloaded when I signed out.
