It tells me its not currently available from the software update server. I can't import or export data from my phone. Help?!
I'm running HIgh Sierra and have the same problem with latest iOS 12 beta.
The only solution is to either upgrade to Mojave or downgrade iOS to 11

I would stay far away.
Support told me that I needed to upgrade my Mac OS to High Sierra, since the new required version of iTunes was not available for El Capitan. This seems to have worked.
unless the update is from iTunes, it's a safe bet to assume that it's malware of some kind. I would get your computer checked at your local Apple retail store. That is my personal opinion.
